Autumn – a great time of year to go bush!

After a rather hectic past 18 months during the establishment phase of NGT, it was nice to be able to have a 2-week break with my 13 year old son Caleb down in Tassie.

We tackled two hikes in as many weeks on the east coast, and really enjoyed the simpler life of bush camping and the autumn weather – a great season in southern Australia. It was also an ideal opportunity to play lots of hands of my favourite card game with Caleb, 500.

If you also enjoy the bush (as I’m sure you do!), then remember it is not too late to go camping for a weekend before the winter sets in…

Looking north from the Blade (near Cape Pillar – in right of image) – Tasman Coastal Trail. At 300 metres above sea level, these are the largest sea-cliffs in the southern hemisphere.

Looking north from Mt Freycinet (Freycinet National Park) towards Wineglass Bay, with Mount Graham to the right (our next climb!) – Freycinet Circuit Trail.
