Busy field season in Mt Lofty Ranges and Lower Lakes

We are underway with fish sampling for a number of projects across the Mt Lofty Ranges and Lower Lakes. Over the next two and a half months we will visit over 100 sites collecting data on the condition of  (a)  fish communities across the Eastern Mt Lofty Ranges; (b)  fish communities in the Torrens, South Para and Onkaparinga rivers in relation to environmental and dilution flows and improved  fish passage (across the lower Torrens River); and (c) threatened species around the Lower Lakes and in our surrogate locations. We will also find time to harvest carp out of the Torrens Lake in the heart of Adelaide (during our first harvest trip we removed almost 900kgs of carp!!

Here are a few photos of the places we have been and species we have caught so far.

Cheers

Nick
