Fantastic Workshops & Forums coming up

We are pleased to announce another in our series of expert workshops here at the Nursery. This time Chris Brodie, Weeds Botanist with the State Herbarium of South Australia will be hosting a workshop on weed identification and setting up a Community Herbarium. Chris has a reputation as a lively and engaging presenter so we are really looking forward to having him in our Nursery.

Date: 22nd of May. Location: NGT Cross-Border Community Nursery, Vansittart Park, Mt Gambier.

We will also be hosting a workshop by accomplished botanical artist and author, Enid Mayfield.  Enid is an illustrative researcher based at the Geelong Botanic Gardens. Her work includes two illustrated volumes of the Flora of the Otway Plain & Ranges. Her illustrations also appear in scientific publications such as the Flora of Victoria and Flora of Australia. The date for this Workshop is yet to be decided.

Native Plant Science Forum

Following on from the success of the Seeds of Success Forum in Hamilton, we worked with Jill Taylor Lakes Hub – Community Nursery Network Coordinator and Coorong and Samantha Blight Tatiara LAP Officer, to bring together three research scientists at the cutting edge of research into native plant genetics and propagation.

This Forum is a must for anyone interested in the future of Australia’s native plant diversity. See below, or this linked Native Plant Science Forum 2014 Flyer for details.
