Thanks to the generous support of about 50 people and/or groups that have donated so far to the Mount Burr Swamp fundraiser, we have reached $22,000 in funding – which is a great achievement! – but we still have a long way to go.
If at this point you are concerned about how far off the target seems, then fear not… after four and half years of planning and having secured over 90% of the funds required to purchase the site – we obviously aren’t going to give up on this unique concept easily!
In fact, we are currently working hard behind the scenes to finalise the details of our emergency ‘back-up plan’ to secure bridging funding if we don’t raise the $110,000 required by the end of the month from public donations.
We’ll have more details to share next week, but for the time being remember that every dollar towards the cause is absolutely crucial – so if you haven’t done so yet, please consider chipping in today.
As well as being invited to our on-site celebration in early October, all donors (individuals, community groups and businesses) will be recognised by being named on a sign that will be permanently erected on site, overlooking Mt Burr Swamp – meaning this is your chance to be recognised for your role in helping to kick-start one of the most exciting environmental projects ever undertaken in our region.
