Orange-bellied Parrot Workshop this weekend – Saturday 11th May

Are you interested in becoming a skilled volunteer? Do you enjoy the outdoors and learning about your local environments?

If the answer is ‘YES’ then please join us in Koroit this weekend for the south-west Victoria Orange-bellied Parrot Workshop from 1.30pm on Saturday 11th May.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the recent outcomes of the recovery program for the critically endangered Orange-bellied Parrot (Neophemea chrysogaster). You can learn how to identify the key grass parrots (Neophema species) that we look out for along our beautiful coastline from Nelson to Peterborough. The Orange-bellied Parrot workshop will include visiting local Neophema habitat to develop you new-found skills. You will then be ready to join our first survey weekend on the 18th and 19th of May.

If you are an existing or past volunteer, we would love you to come along, share your experiences and refresh your knowledge!

Please RSVP to Nicole if you would like to attend.

The OBP winter monitoring program in south-west Victoria is undertaken by Nature Glenelg Trust in close partnership with BirdLife Australia and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. This project is supported by Glenelg Hopkins CMA and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
