Yellow Navel (Omphalina chromacea)

This shot of a tiny Yellow Navel (Omphalina chromacea) was taken while undertaking bushcare work in the Wannon Falls Scenic Reserve near Hamilton. The Yellow Navel is commonly found on the ground in association with mats of algae, and starts off dome-shaped like this one, before flattening out and then becoming funnel-shaped. Wannon Falls is always a speccy spot for a visit – especially at the moment with the waterfall flowing!
