Join us for National Tree Day 2025 at Eaglehawk Waterhole

This year, we’ll be hosting a National Tree Day event at Eaglehawk Waterhole on Friday August 1st, thanks to the support of a Seedling Bank grant from Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.

At 885 hectares in size, Eaglehawk Waterhole is NGT’s largest restoration reserve. The site is situated in the Upper South East of South Australia, approximately 2 km west of the Little Desert National Park and the state border with Victoria.

We’ll be planting a variety of local species, including the bush tucker, Murnong/Yam Daisy (Microseris lanceolata), as well as locating and removing small Boneseed weeds. The Murnong/Yam Daisy is an important traditional indigenous food source, with edible tubers, which we first returned to this site last year.
