NGT Out and about – Photos from the field in July

These photos were taken at NGT reserve Mount Vandyke. Rosemary & Andy are conducting weed control throughout the felled bluegum stumps (first photo), and all over the mount… a beautiful view from up there (second photo)!

And there’s also John (NGT Grassland Ecologist) admiring the lush Kangaroo Grass (third photo).

Lastly, Rosemary (NGT Field Works Team Leader) took this gorgeous photos of Emus in the mist – on the road to Mount Vandyke.

“The Kangaroo Grass (Themeda) was planted in spring, repeatedly watered to get it through it’s first summer and now is flowering in mid-winter (unusual as it usually flowers in summer)! It’s thriving but seems a little confused by the weather, but so am I.”
