Photo of the month: Landholder generosity goes a long way

Aquasave-NGT’s Sylvia and Nick have been out and about busy sampling for freshwater fish within the Inman Valley of the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.

This photo of the month captures a great moment, where one of the landowners, Baden, was able to come and join in some sampling – in the photo with him is a Climbing Galaxias (Galaxias brevipinnis) and Southern Pygmy Perch (Nannoperca australis).

Seeing a landowner get to discover the ecological values of their property and an understanding of the health of their patch of habitat gives us a real sense of satisfaction too.

Building genuine and lasting relationships with landholders is a big part of so many of NGT’s projects – so we thank all of those that have given their time, shown us around and shared their knowledge with us over the years!
