NGT’s Bryan Haywood reported that after a few days out in the sunshine at Mt Burr Swamp to install the fence wires earlier in the month, the birdlife was out and about.
While regulars such as black swans are still nesting, new birds observed include whistling kites, peregrine falcon, pink-eared duck (50+) and an increasing number of white-necked herons.
He also captured a great shot of an Australian Hobby perched on the new fence – see below – and even found 3 growling grass frogs under fencing gear as it was being loaded!
