More threatened fish reintroductions into the Lower Lakes

The three rounds of threatened fish reintroductions to the Lower Lakes [a collaboration between Aquasave – NGT and SARDI (Chris Bice) as part of the Critical Fish Project Critical Fish Project funded by the CLLMM group of DEWNR] has just been completed. During this round, Chris and I have reintroduced just under 5000 fish from three species (Murray hardyhead, Yarra pygmy perch and southern purple-spotted gudgeon) to four locations around the Lower Lakes. Thanks to Adam Watt (DEWNR), Simon Westergaard (Flinders University) and Phillipa Wilson, Brenton Zampatti (SARDI) for help with this round of reintroductions.

Now lets hope they settle in (and breed) before we commence monitoring in February/March next year.

Cheers

Nick
