Water level update and… your last chance to register to attend the Gooseneck Swamp information day

On this coming Saturday the 14th of December, why not join us for an informative look at Gooseneck Swamp – and learn all about the restoration trial underway at the site?

Water levels in the swamp are holding – meaning there will be plenty of wildlife to see – and we’ll be putting on a free barbeque lunch. So, if you are keen but haven’t yet registered, please send Lauren an email or give her a call on 0428 977 358. She will provide you with all the details and tell you where to meet us on the day.

Day 79 (15th November 2013) – 67cm

Day 87 of the trial (23rd Nov 2013) – 69.5cm. Water levels have risen again in response to recent rainfall events.

Among other speakers, Lachlan will be there on the day and can tell us about his use of remote time-lapse camera technology to capture the changes in the swamp over the first few months of the restoration trial. To give you and idea of what this is all about, check out the video below… and remember to watch closely, as the changes in vegetation are subtle as the season progresses into the spring.

The time-lapse photography also occasionally picks up some great records – like these Brolgas on the 21st of October 2013 (CLICK TO ENLARGE)

I’m really looking forward to a great day out in the bush – at a spectacular spot in our region.

We hope to see you there!
