The updated mammal chapter of the Census of SA Vertebrates is now available on-line!

In the last couple of weeks I received the following message from Helen Owens from the Science, Monitoring and Knowledge area of DEWNR in Adelaide:

Science Monitoring & Knowledge Branch in conjunction with the South Australian Museum are pleased to announce the release of the Mammal Chapter in the 4th edition of the  Census of South Australian Vertebrates – eBook.

The chapter can be accessed via the DEWNR website here.

This revision  includes a complete review of the taxonomy and distribution maps and is recommended as the official guide to South Australian taxonomy.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed data over the years.

By the way, the maps that show where species occur in South Australia are generated from all verified records, so… if you have helped out on fauna surveys over the years or you’ve ever handed in a specimen that was lodged with the SA Museum (with all the correct information attached of course), that thank you extends to you!
