A treat of Southern Pygmy Perch at Angas River community event
The fabulous community event held at Strathalbyn on the Angas River – ‘A river near you’ by the Angas River Catchment Group and the Goolwa to Wellington LAP had a turn of exciting events with Sylvia Zukowski sampling a very healthy population of 72 Southern Pygmy Perch in just one site just north of the town in the Angas River where the event was held.
No introduced fish were sampled which makes these results even more fabulous.
This is great news for the endangered species which has been declining in numbers throughout SA and for the Angas River Catchment Group who puts in a lot of effort to make sure this part of the Angas River is healthy and productive.
