Fish, fun and education for ‘World Outdoor Classroom Day’ at Currency Creek

Native fish were on show at the Currency Creek Investigator College Campus on November 1st as part of the world outdoor classroom day.

Year 6 students spent the day by Currency Creek and had the opportunity to get in the water and have a hands on session learning about local native and introduced fish species, their role in the ecosystem, life cycle and factors affecting their growth and survival. Sylvia Zukowski showed students how to became aquatic ecologists as they identified, measured and recorded fish species, undertook water quality testing and habitat assessments.
