‘Natives are good in gardens too’ — promoting local native plants in Mt Gambier gardens

Over the weekend, we kicked off planting season in south-east SA, in some unseasonal warm and sunny weather, with our last planting for our ‘Natives Are Good In Gardens Too’ project. The project aims to promote the use of local natives in household gardens around Mt Gambier, instead of planting other common, less environmentally friendly pants such as Agapanthus. By planting local natives, we’re also providing habitat for a variety of species.

At each planting for the project, identification signs have been installed with a QR code linking to a web page giving more information about each plant and why planting local natives in home gardens is important. You can find the page here.
