Photo of the Week – August 14 – Yellow Navel at Wannon Falls Scenic Reserve, Vic
Posted at 14 Aug 2015 at 03:05h in Photo of the Month
This shot of a tiny Yellow Navel (Omphalina chromacea) was taken while undertaking bushcare work in the Wannon Falls Scenic Reserve near Hamilton. The Yellow Navel is commonly found on the ground in association with mats of algae, and starts off dome-shaped like this one, before flattening out and then becoming funnel-shaped. Wannon Falls is always a speccy spot for a visit – especially at the moment with the waterfall flowing!
