Summer holiday activities on the south west coast in January 2019 – Come along and enjoy “Summer By the Sea”!

During the January school holidays, there will be plenty of fun coastal activities for the kids to enjoy!

We will be running a series of coastal sessions in Nelson, Narrawong and Warrnambool as part of the state-wide Summer By the Sea program, coordinated and funded through Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning. The activities will kick off in Nelson on Friday 4th January with our beach combing walk, and finish in Narrawong on the 23rd Jan with a Sustainable fishing clinic.

Come along to an Estuary Discovery session in Nelson and Narrawong and learn about the types of animals that rely on these unique environments, or enjoy a stroll along the beach and discover what treasures we can find in one of our beach combing sessions.  We will also be hosting a series of Rockpool Rambles at Pickering Point in Warrnambool, which is always a highlight of the program.

If angling is more your style, come along to our fishing clinic in Narrawong and learn the basics of sustainable fishing. NGT is partnering up with Fishcare Victoria to run the clinic, which will promise to be a great event. Finally, we will be hosting three Creatures of the Night tours, where people will experience the undiscovered creatures of the bush at our ‘Kurrawonga’ property in Nelson.

Anyone wishing to attend must reserve their spot via the Summer By the Sea website.
