Swimming with the fishes
I have recently had a paper published which is the first comprehensive assessment of the swimming capacity of the Murray Cod. The research outlined in the paper indicates that this large, slow growing species is a generalist capable of a moderate ability across most aspects of its swimming. It appears that their swimming capacity reflects a life strategy that seeks to conserve energy in some of the world’s most hydrologically and thermally variable rivers in the world.
A copy of the paper is attached here.
