Turning passion for the environment into a career
NGT’s Aquasave team and Landscape Board staff were recently involved as mentors in a Sustainable Futures Wetland Ecology workshop at the Investigator college, Currency Creek campus.
Investigator college year 12 student and school captain, Kane Cody, organised the event to show students pathways for turning their passion for the environment into a career. The workshop involved students from schools across Adelaide and mentors with environmental career backgrounds. Students were given the opportunity to have a hands on learning experience about wetland ecology and biology, fish, frogs, and bugs with mentors.
Following this, students pitched their career ambitions to mentors, and mentors provided feedback on careers, entrance pathways, fields, and projects that may be relevant. From the day, students developed an action plan for their environmental career. A fantastic event for all participants!
