Wetland Restoration Program Underway and New Casual Staff Commence for NGT

A short trip to Warrnambool on Monday not only marked the first day of work for Lachlan Farrington, NGT’s new co-ordinator for the Cross-border Wetland Restoration Program, but also the first chance to bring together Nature Glenelg Trust’s Victorian based staff.

In addition to myself (based in Mumbannar) and Lachlan (Warrnambool), NGT also welcomes two new casual staff – Lauren Kivisalu (Narrawong) and Jessie McMaster (Colac). Not only do Lauren, Jessie and Lachlan bring a wealth of experience from their previous work with DSE and the Glenelg Hopkins CMA, but importantly they are also based at locations across the South West. The geographic reach of our staff, which also includes Mount Gambier (Cath and Becky) and Goolwa (Nick) in South Australia, makes Nature Glenelg Trust a truly regional organisation and gives us some excellent flexibility in working with local people to deliver environmental programs.

The commencement of the Wetland Restoration Program has also been marked by a couple of articles appearing in regional newspapers, see below.
