World of insects workshops to start in November

Have you ever wondered what that noise was during a hot summers day, or what that bug-like-thing that lobbed into your car or landed on your leg was? Come along to this series of workshops and you might just find out.

This series of workshops and field trips is generously supported by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board to offer an insight into the world of insects in our region. Each session is a different; some involve practical field trips and there’s even some evening UV light trapping. But, don’t worry if you’re unable to attend all the sessions; you can come to one, some, or attend the whole course to become a Limestone Coast insect whizz!

What skills will I gain?
We hope to give you some new skills to become citizen scientists and contribute to insect related conservation projects in your area.
What will I learn?
We hope to inform you about what interesting and/or rare species of butterfly, for example, might occur near to your home. You’ll learn how to identify them and understand more about their life cycle. You’ll also learn what plants are important to it and what could you do to help them thrive in your neighbourhood.

If you’re interested, please contact Jess as soon as possible to register your interest and indicate either all sessions, or which specific dates you’re able to attend.
