World Wetland Day event in Mount Gambier and the Coastal Rising Springs
On Wednesday next week (20th February), I’ll be giving a talk at the Mt Gambier library about the restoration story of Piccaninnie Ponds and Pick Swamp – now an internationally recognised Ramsar site.
Claire Harding will also be talking about the the importance of ground-water for wetlands, and Oisín Sweeney will talk about threatened species of karst rising springs habitats.
The talks will kick-off at 6pm (SA time) at the Mount Gambier Library, and will be followed by a chance to get out on-site to experience and learn about rising springs on Saturday the 23rd of February.
It should be a great event – so I hope to see you there!
