Book your place and join us this spring for a first look at the Wirey Swamp Restoration Reserve

This special message is for all the wonderful supporters who contributed to our recent fundraiser, helping us to create the Wirey Swamp Restoration Reserve…

We are hosting a community event at the new Reserve, on Saturday 4th October 2025, and you are invited!

This family-friendly experience in nature will include talks, short walks or the chance to sit by the fire, have a hot cuppa and mingle with other like-minded people, before our BBQ lunch.

Although the landscape remains exceptionally dry this year, after the driest 18-month period on record (meaning there isn’t a lot of water in the landscape) this does mean that you’ll have the benefit of seeing the baseline condition of the site before we begin the long-term restoration journey.

We are also fortunate to have a useful woodland habitat reference site immediately next door: The Wirey Swamp Bushland Reserve, managed by Parks Victoria. This woodland habitat will be a useful reference for restoring the land surrounding the swamp.

For those who attend on the day, we will also have some special news to share about another exciting upcoming element to this project.

Registration to attend this special event is FREE for project supporters who have previously donated to NGT or the recent Wirey Swamp fundraising campaign.

Places are limited, so make sure to book your ticket today!

If you are keen to come along and haven’t made a donation yet, then it isn’t too late. For more information on the project and how to donate please visit the Wirey Swamp donation page.

We hope to see you there!
