March update: Wirey Swamp land purchase fundraiser

It has now been a couple of months since we announced NGT’s exciting new plan to create the Wirey Swamp Restoration Reserve, to enhance habitat for a whole host of wetland dependent threatened species. Being situated near a key flocking location for the threatened Brolga, increases our chances that the site will attract a pair of birds from this iconic species to breed there in the future, if we give them a helping hand.

Thanks to some amazing additional support over recent weeks, it is great to be able to report this month that we’ve now received 58 donations, worth $63,525.

Alongside the matching contributions being made by our plantation industry partners (OFO and ABP), this equates to a total raised so far of $127,050 – or just over 21% of our target.

Needless to say, we’re tracking well but still have a way to go, so would love to have you on board!
